MEDICAL

All doctors at Airline Children’s Clinic are Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Board certification is a voluntary process that goes above and beyond state licensing requirements for practicing medicine.

 

 

Juan Olivares, Jr., MD

Director of Pediatrics, Vecino Health Centers

OlivaresEducation – Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Olivares received his medical degree in 2008 from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He completed his residency in 2011 at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2011. He attended Trinity University and graduated Cum Laude in 2004 with a BS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Religion.

Background – Dr. Olivares is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Texas Pediatric Society. He is the recipient of the Gold Foundation Resident Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award of 2011, the the Community Health Research Fellow in the summer of 2005 and received the Resident Teaching Award in 2009 and 2010. Dr. Olivares is fluent in English and Spanish.

 

Tiana Hughes, MD

Pediatrician, Vecino Health Centers – Airline Children’s Clinic

Education – Dr. Hughes completed her pediatric internship and residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California in 2015 and received her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2012. She attended California State University, Los Angeles and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Background – Dr. Hughes is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National medical Association. She has worked with children of all ages for more than 10 years as a pediatrician, teacher and mentor.

 

Nora Saavedra, MD

Pediatrician, Vecino Health Centers – Airline Children’s Clinic

SaavedraEducation – Dr. Saavedra received her medical degree in 2012 from UT Southwestern Medical School and completed her pediatric residency at UT Houston Medical School in 2015. She attended Rice University and graduated in 2008 with a BA in Cognitive Sciences.

Background – Dr. Saavedra is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is fluent in English and Spanish.

 


 

DENTAL

Martha J. Wade, DDS

Dental Director, Vecino Health Centers and Clinical Assistant Professor, The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston

WadeDr. Wade brings significant experience as both public health provider and administrator to her role as Dental Director of Vecino Health Centers.

Education – Dr. Wade received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry, Houston and is a member of the National Network of Oral Health Access (NNOHA). After twelve years in private practice, she continued to explore her interest in public health through studies at the University of Houston–Clear Lake and the University of Texas School Of Public Health.

Background – Dr. Wade’s interest in public health programs led to a sixteen-year career in management of school based health programs as Assistant Director of Community and Personal Health at the City of Houston Health Department, where she also provided dental clinical care.

Community dentistry has always been her primary interest because of the people. “At Vecino Health Centers we focus on the patient’s needs and work to make the experience as positive as possible,” she says. “Coming to work is a pleasure every day.”

 

COUNSELING

Katrina Daneshvar, M.A. LPC, NCC

Mental Health Counselor, Vecino Health Centers – Airline Children’s Clinic

1Education – A Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor, Ms. Daneshvar received her MA in Counseling from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, and her BA in Psychology from University of St. Thomas in Houston

Other – Prior to joining Vecino Health Centers, Ms. Daneshvar was with Catholic Charities of Houston and the DePelchin Children’s Center.
